The Application Process

Welcome to Water Wonders Summer Club for children age 3 till 7 (*for younger children please check program below)! Dive into six weeks of aquatic adventure where children will explore the wonders of water. Each week, we’ll immerse ourselves in a different water-themed adventure, sparking curiosity and learning through fun activities and exploration. From the science of oceans to the magic of underwater creatures, every day promises a new discovery. Join us as we make a splash and create memories to last a lifetime!

Week 1: Water in Nature

Topic: Exploring rivers, lakes, ponds and oceans
Learning objectives: Understanding the importance of freshwater ecosystems, the differences between them.
Activities:

  • Go on nature walks to observe local bodies of water and wildlife.
  • Collect pond water samples and observe microorganisms under a microscope
  • Learn about the water cycle through a storytelling activity.
  • Role-play as marine biologists exploring the ocean floor

Week 2: Water Science

Topic: Exploring the properties of water
Learning objectives: Understanding concepts like buoyancy, surface tension, and the water cycle.
Activities:

  • Conduct water experiments like sinking and floating objects.
  • Build boats from recycled materials and test their buoyancy.
  • Explore evaporation by making rain in a jar.
  • Learn about water pollution and how to keep water clean through a pollution sorting game.

Week 3: Under the Sea Adventure – water creatures

Topic: Delving into the world of underwater creatures
Learning objectives: Identifying different water creatures and understanding their habitats and characteristics.
Activities:

  • Create an underwater mural with fish, sharks, and other sea creatures.
  • Create costumes of a sea creatures and act out underwater scenes.
  • Visit a local aquarium – possible trip to the Warsaw ZOO
  • Learn about conservation efforts to protect marine life
  • Craft sea creature puppets and put on a puppet show

Week 4: Water Sports

Topic: Engaging in exciting water-based sports and activities
Learning objectives: Introducing children to various water sports, promoting physical fitness and enhancing coordination and teamwork skills
Activities:

  • Participate in a relay races with water-themed obstacles
  • Learn about famous water sport athletes

Week 5: Water Transport Adventure

Topic: Exploring different methods of water transportation
Learning objectives: Understanding the history and mechanics of watercraft, learning about navigation an safety, and appreciating the importance of water transport in global trade and travel
Activities:

  • Construct miniature boats from recycled materials and test their seaworthiness in a kiddie pool
  • Learn about famous explorers and their voyages across the seas
  • Create the poster depicting various modes of water transport throughout history
  • Build miniature boats and race them in a makeshift river.

Week 6: Pirates, Mermaids and Fantasy Friends

Topic: Embarking on imaginative adventures with pirate and mermaid lore
Learning objectives: Fostering creativity and storytelling skills, exploring themes of friendship and cooperation, and sparking interests in maritime folklore and mythology
Activities:

  • Dress up as pirates, mermaids or other fantasy characters
  • Create treasure maps and go on a treasure hunt
  • Design and decorate cardboard pirate ships

During the entire summer, aside from the planned activities mentioned above, there will also be a lot of water plays and arts and crafts connected with that topic.
Each week at Water Wonders Summer Club offers a unique and engaging experience, encouraging children to learn, explore, and have fun while discovering the wonders of water!

*Children younger than 3 years old also have a chance to participate in our summer club; however, the topic for them is “Rumble in the Jungle” which will be a great opportunity to learn more about different animals and their habitats during days full of fun, art and sensory activities.

    Late pick-up charge: 10 zł for each commenced 10 minutes of care, charged after 10 minutes of delay.

    Programme C - 20 zł for each commenced 10 minutes

    Refunds for reported absences:

    Refunds for reported absence (Deduction are applicable only before the start day. TEP does not refund for absences during the summer club, except for catering which will be calculated at the end of the club)

    The re-payment will be assessed at the end of Summer Club attendance based on the timing of cancellation that was reported on our 4Parents application.

    cancellation sent 1 week (7 days) in advance – 70% refund

    cancellation sent less than 7 days in advance – 40% refund

    Meals refund:

    Applicable in case your child does not have meal due to his/her absence reported through 4Parents app or website (the latest by 8:30 am on the same day for lunch, afternoon snack and a day before for morning snack). The re-payment will be assessed at the end of Summer Club attendance based on the number of meals being cancelled at the application/website

    RULES and REGULATIONS

    1. The English Playhouse is an entity run by:

    2. The Parent or Guardian commissions The English Playhouse to educate and care for the child on the indicated dates of attendance in Summer Club, according to the chosen programme and The English Playhouse agrees to fulfil this commission in exchange for timely payment of the agreed remuneration.     3. A child is accepted to one of the The English Playhouse centres after receiving the duly completed application form, found on www.tep.edu.pl

    4. The Parent or Guardian declares that:

    a. Parental authority over a child accords to: …….

    b. The below-named actually care for the child with the Parent or Guardian’s consent, if any:

    These persons are authorised to collect the child and also to obtain all information concerning the care and education at the English Playhouse. Furthermore, should it be necessary for a third party to have to collect the child the Parent or Guardian are obliged to have to present a separate authority according to the Pick-up authorisation form (to be collected from the teacher on duty).

    c. The health condition of a child allows him/her to participate in the Summer Club.

    5. The Parent or Guardian also undertakes to maintain generally accepted principles of good and friendly atmosphere on the premises, and in relation to The English Playhouse community
    (employees, children and their parents); not disturbing the work at The English Playhouse and to address politely representatives of the nursery school community.
